Intense Anti-Terror Operation in Jammu and Kashmir Enters 28th Day
Ongoing Operation Against Terrorism
The extensive anti-terror operation in the forests of Dorimal, Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, has now reached its 28th day. The dense and perilous woods in the critical Mughalan area of the Mankhankot sector are currently witnessing a fierce battle involving explosives, gunfire, and the unwavering courage of soldiers. Dubbed 'Operation Sheruwali', this initiative has taken a form that has unsettled the terror masterminds across the border.
Challenging Terrain and Determined Forces
The Dorimal hills represent a treacherous region where every step is taken under the shadow of death. Steep slopes, slippery rocks, dense underbrush, and deep ravines continuously challenge the security forces, yet the determination of the soldiers prevails over every obstacle. To eliminate the terrorists, security forces have tightened their grip on the entire area.
Intensified Search Operations
Security agencies have ramped up their search and cordon operations to comb through every corner of the forest. The army, police, and other agencies are persistently conducting raids in the woods. Surveillance measures have been enhanced to detect any suspicious movements. Continuous patrolling, search missions, and regional control operations are ongoing, with a clear message from the security forces that there will be no escape route left for the terrorists.
A Historic Campaign
Initiated at the end of May, this operation is now considered one of the longest anti-terror campaigns in Rajouri's history. It aims not only to locate terrorists hiding in the forests but also to thwart any attempts to disrupt peace in India through infiltration from across the border. Reports indicate that terrorists have made the dense woods of Dorimal and Mughalan their refuge, prompting security forces to apply significant pressure across the area.
Escalating Tensions
Tensions escalated on May 28 when heavy gunfire and shelling erupted in the Dorimal forests. Security forces tightened their encirclement to trap the terrorists. According to officials, additional troops, weapons, and logistical support were swiftly dispatched to the front lines to ensure no terrorist could escape. An impenetrable barrier was established within the forests, making it nearly impossible for the terrorists to break through.
Sacrifices and Challenges
During this operation, the army has faced not only gunfire but also the harsh challenges posed by nature. On June 7, a soldier made the ultimate sacrifice during the anti-terror action. Reports indicate that while advancing in the rugged terrain, he slipped and fell from a rock. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.
Commitment to National Security
The ongoing campaign in Rajouri represents a rigorous battle for the country's security and peace, with soldiers risking their lives day and night to eradicate terrorism. This relentless effort, now spanning 28 days, clearly demonstrates that India will not retreat in its fight against terrorism.
Continued Search Operations
Search operations in the Dorimal forests are still underway. Security forces are meticulously examining every bush, rock, and mountain pass. The entire area remains under military surveillance, with soldiers steadfastly holding their positions. As the operation extends, it becomes increasingly evident that the security forces are determined to complete their mission without leaving any task unfinished.
Recent Arrests and Drug Crackdown
Meanwhile, the ongoing crackdown on terrorism and crime in Jammu and Kashmir has led to significant developments. In Shopian district, police apprehended three suspects and seized explosive materials along with posters of Hizbul Mujahideen. During the operation in the Pudsou area, two grenades, 2.5 kilograms of plastic explosives, four mobile phones, and materials linked to the terrorist organization were confiscated. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ejaz Ahmed Khande, Arbaaz Ahmed Mir, and Nasir Ahmed Dar, who had reportedly been missing since May 31. This revelation has heightened concerns among security agencies, as terrorist networks in the valley appear to be attempting to re-establish themselves.
Crackdown on Drug Trafficking
On another front, authorities in Samba district have dealt a significant blow to the drug trade. Police have confiscated assets worth over two crore eight lakh rupees belonging to drug trafficker Narayan Sharma, also known as Shuna. The seized properties include a luxurious house, a car, and land worth millions, all reportedly acquired through drug trafficking. The accused is currently incarcerated at Central Jail Kot Bhalwal. This ongoing action against the nexus of terrorism and drug trafficking signals that security agencies in Jammu and Kashmir are not in the mood to relent on any front.
