Rajuram Meena Achieves Remarkable RAS Success
Sirohi. It is often said that a strong desire to achieve can lead to success. Rajuram Meena, a resident of Barwa Ki Dhani, exemplifies this notion by successfully clearing the RAS 2024 exam in his first attempt, despite lacking coaching and resources. He secured the 2285th rank in the state and the 5th rank among ST ex-servicemen, bringing pride to his village and community. Villagers from Barwa and Ghanna share that Rajuram hails from a humble background and continues to live with his family in Barwa, where basic amenities and educational opportunities are scarce. Nevertheless, his selection in the RAS has made him an inspiration for the tribal community and youth.
Rajuram attributes his success to his parents and friends who guided him along the way. Currently, villagers and community members are visiting his home to congratulate him with garlands and turbans, creating a joyful atmosphere in his family. Despite his achievements, Rajuram still tends to sheep and goats, and his family relies on this livestock for their livelihood.
Education Journey in Government Schools
Rajuram shares that he completed his primary education at a local government school and pursued higher studies at a government school in Ghanna, located at the village panchayat headquarters. To continue his education, he walked 8 kilometers daily to school without any resources. After overcoming numerous challenges, he enrolled in college in Jalore, where he stayed in a tribal hostel, ultimately preparing himself for a career in the Air Force.
20 Years of Service in the Air Force
Rajuram served in the Air Force for 20 years at various locations and recently retired in June. Despite returning home, he remained focused on his goal of entering administrative services, dedicating himself to his studies, which ultimately led to his success.
Rajuram as a Source of Inspiration for Youth
Rajuram Meena has become the first direct RAS officer from the Scheduled Tribe community in Jalore district. Until now, no one from this community had achieved such a feat. His selection has made him a role model and guide for young aspirants preparing for competitive exams.

Kanararam Meena, an administrator at Ghanna village panchayat, recalls studying alongside Rajuram, noting his challenging financial situation. Despite this, Rajuram was diligent in his studies and traveled daily to school. His success in the RAS has brought honor to their village.
Ram Singh Champawat, a former sarpanch of Barwa, expressed that Rajuram's achievement is a source of joy and pride for the village, and he will serve as an inspiration and guide for future generations.
