No Task is Too Small: The Spirit of Determination

It is often said that no task is insignificant; what matters is the passion to achieve something. Hard work and dedication should be ingrained in one's blood. This is exemplified by Mamta Sharma from the Billawar area of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Resilience in the Face of Adversity

After her husband lost his job, the family faced severe food shortages. However, Mamta refused to give up. She worked hard and turned her basic cooking skills into a source of income. Today, not only does her family enjoy sufficient meals, but they also help feed several middle-class and underprivileged families.

Turning a Car into a Dhaba

Mamta's husband previously worked at a polytechnic college, earning ₹7,000 a month. When he lost his job, the family encountered numerous challenges, from paying rent to supporting their children's education. Instead of succumbing to despair, Mamta proposed opening a dhaba, leveraging her cooking skills.

Innovative Solution: A Dhaba on Wheels

The couple began searching for a location to set up their dhaba but faced financial constraints. Then, Mamta had a brilliant idea: why not start a dhaba in their Alto car? They managed to acquire an Alto and launched 'Vishnu Dhaba' from it.

A Culinary Delight at Affordable Prices

Located in the Bikram Chowki area of Jammu, this dhaba serves delicious and healthy homemade meals at very low prices—₹50 for a full plate and ₹30 for a half plate. Initially, they earned only ₹100 a day. However, one day, they parked their car under a tree, and suddenly, people were drawn to their tasty food and low prices.

A Growing Popularity

In just a month and a half, Mamta's 'Vishnu Dhaba' has gained immense popularity in the Top Sher Khaniya area. It operates daily from noon to 4 PM, with Mamta, her husband, and their two children preparing meals from early morning. The menu includes 'Rajma', 'Chana Dal', 'Chole Dal', 'Kadi', 'Amble', rice, pickles, and curry.

Passion and Perseverance

Mamta's husband, Neeraj Sharma, emphasizes the importance of having a passion for work. With determination, one can earn both respect and wealth from anywhere. He expresses pride in their efforts, stating that while they fill others' stomachs, they are also able to sustain their own.
