Both players are crucial for the upcoming T20 World Cup, and their fitness will be closely monitored as the series unfolds. Read on for more details about the squad and injury updates.

New Zealand's Injury Challenges

Michael Bracewell, the all-rounder who led New Zealand to a 2-1 ODI series victory over India, may miss the upcoming five-match T20I series starting January 21 in Nagpur.

In response to these injury concerns, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has included all-rounder Kristian Clarke in the squad for the initial three T20 matches.

Bracewell's Calf Injury

NZC coach Rob Walter reported that Bracewell joined the T20 squad in Nagpur after suffering a minor strain in his left calf while fielding during the final ODI in Indore. He will receive treatment and be monitored closely in the coming days to assess his ability to continue in the series.

Milne's Hamstring Setback

Pacer Adam Milne is also facing injury issues, having strained his left hamstring while playing for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20. His condition is currently under evaluation to determine the best course of action.

Both Bracewell and Milne are included in New Zealand's 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka starting February 7. They aim to recover in time for the tournament and gain match experience in subcontinental conditions during the latter part of the series against India.

Kristian Clarke's Strong Performance

Kristian Clarke, aged 24, made a notable debut in the ODI series, claiming seven wickets, including two dismissals of Virat Kohli, and providing crucial runs in the lower order. His contributions were vital to New Zealand's success in the series.

New Zealand's T20I Squad

The New Zealand squad for the T20I series against India includes: Mitchell Santner (C), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Bevon Jacobs, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Robinson, Ish Sodhi, and Kristian Clarke (only for the first three matches).
