Injury Update on New Zealand Pacers

New Zealand's fast bowlers, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry, will not participate in the remaining matches of the five-game T20I series against India due to injuries, as reported by the ICC. Ferguson sustained a calf injury during the second T20I held in Christchurch and is expected to be out for at least a week. Meanwhile, Henry has a quad injury from the same match and will require up to two weeks for recovery.

Squad Adjustments and Recovery Plans

In response to these injuries, the Black Caps have added Matt Fisher to their squad for the last two T20Is against India. The team is optimistic about having both Ferguson and Henry ready for the One Day Internationals (ODIs) against the Asian team starting on November 4. The fourth T20I is scheduled for Friday, followed by the final match on Sunday.

New Zealand's coach, Rob Walter, expressed his disappointment regarding the injuries, stating, "We are gutted for Lockie and Matt. Injuries are an unfortunate aspect of international cricket, but it doesn't lessen the impact of missing games."

He added, "Fortunately for Matt, he was already set to miss the remaining T20Is to prepare for his busy summer schedule, and we are hopeful he will play a significant role in the ODIs."

Walter concluded, "I know Lockie was eager to perform in front of a packed home crowd at Eden Park tomorrow, but he is determined to return for the ODIs."
