Initial Findings from Ajit Pawar-Linked Plane Crash Investigation

The initial investigation report regarding the plane crash associated with Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has unveiled significant early findings. According to sources, two primary factors have emerged that may have contributed to this incident. A detailed analysis is still ongoing. Reports indicate that despite low visibility on the runway, the aircraft attempted to land. Investigators have identified that the decision to land under such conditions is one of the major points highlighted in the preliminary assessment.

Alongside visibility challenges, a suspected technical malfunction has also been noted during the initial investigation. Officials are examining whether a system failure impacted the aircraft's performance during landing. The recovery of data from the aircraft's black box has commenced, and a comprehensive report will be released once all data is obtained and analyzed. Authorities emphasized that the final conclusions will heavily rely on this critical flight data.

The black box from the Learjet 45, which crashed near Baramati airport, was recovered the day after the incident. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is currently investigating the crash that occurred during the aircraft's second landing attempt at the tabletop runway. It is noteworthy that the NCP leader tragically lost his life in a charter plane accident while traveling from Mumbai to Brahmanti on Wednesday morning (January 28).

Ajit Pawar, aged 66, was a prominent politician and the nephew of NCP founder Sharad Pawar, as well as a cousin to Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule. He held the position of Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the longest non-consecutive terms, serving across six tenures in various governments. His political career included serving under the cabinets of Prithviraj Chavan, Devendra Fadnavis, Uddhav Thackeray, and Eknath Shinde. He is survived by his wife, Sunetra Pawar, and their two sons, Jay and Parth Pawar.
