IndiGo Airlines Announces Extension of Ticket Cancellation Waiver

On Friday, IndiGo Airlines revealed that it is extending the ticket cancellation waiver for flights operating to and from the Middle East and Istanbul, Turkey, until March 31. The airline stated that it is closely monitoring the developments in the affected regions and will provide regular updates on its website and social media platforms.


Earlier this week, IndiGo announced the cancellation of over 500 flights to the Middle East and select international destinations from February 28 to March 3 due to airspace restrictions imposed on Iran and other Gulf nations.

In a regulatory report, the airline indicated that it will continue to monitor the revenue impact arising from this situation. The ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran has severely affected flight services in the Middle East due to airspace restrictions. IndiGo confirmed that it has canceled more than 500 flights to the Middle East and select international destinations during the specified period.


The report stated, "Our operational teams are continuously assessing regional conditions, adjusting flight schedules, and planning repatriation flights in coordination with Indian and relevant international authorities to minimize passenger inconvenience."

The Ministry of Civil Aviation reported on Tuesday that due to the current situation, 1,221 Indian flights and 388 foreign flights have been canceled as of March 3. According to the ministry's website, there were 356 international flights scheduled to depart from India on March 3, while 338 international flights landed at various airports across the country.
