IndiGo's Temporary Suspension of International Routes

Mumbai: IndiGo, the largest airline in India, announced on Thursday that it will temporarily halt flights to six international locations, including Hong Kong and Krabi, as part of its network optimization strategy.

The budget airline will suspend services to Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, and Shanghai starting July 1, with Siem Reap following suit on July 3, continuing until September 30, according to a statement from IndiGo.

This decision comes in light of a typically lower demand expected in the upcoming quarter, coupled with a challenging cost environment.

IndiGo plans to reopen bookings for all affected routes on October 1, contingent on an improved market situation, and has indicated readiness to reinstate these services sooner if conditions allow.

Despite these adjustments, the airline has successfully maintained the majority of its international operations, with over 1,800 weekly flights still in service.
