IndiGo Airlines Responds to Flight Disruptions

New Delhi: IndiGo Airlines is currently under scrutiny due to ongoing flight disruptions. On Saturday, the airline announced that it is prioritizing customer refunds amid the chaos.

This announcement follows a directive from the government mandating that all outstanding passenger refunds be processed by 8 PM on Sunday.

In a statement, IndiGo emphasized, "We are prioritizing all customer refunds and collaborating with airports and partners to ensure timely updates are communicated to customers at terminals, on our website, and through direct notifications."

The airline is making efforts to stabilize its operations, stating, "We are working diligently to restore our schedules, minimize delays, and assist our customers."

As of today, cancellations have decreased to below 850 flights, a significant improvement from the previous day. IndiGo is committed to further reducing this number in the coming days.

The disruptions have persisted for five days, primarily due to an unexpected shortage of pilots attributed to planning issues.

Customers are advised to verify their flight status before heading to the airport and to reach out to customer support for assistance with refunds.

IndiGo expressed its sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused and is focused on returning to normal operations as soon as possible.

Additionally, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has instructed IndiGo to locate and deliver any baggage separated from passengers to their homes or preferred addresses within 48 hours.

In response to the situation, Indian Railways has stepped in to assist affected passengers by adding extra coaches to accommodate the increased demand.

The Railway Ministry announced that it is deploying 116 additional coaches across 37 premium trains, resulting in 114 enhanced trips nationwide.
