This win not only earned them the gold medal but also ended a 44-year drought for an Asian Games medal in Aichi-Nagoya.

A Historic Medal for India

Ranked eighth globally, India surprised the fourth-ranked China in a tightly contested final, with Lalremsiami netting the winning goal in the 10th minute. This victory marks India's first women's hockey medal at the Asian Games since 1982, when the team last achieved podium success.
