Exciting Day Ahead for India at the Asian Games

As the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games approach their final stages, India gears up for an exhilarating Saturday filled with competitive events. The highlight of the day includes the men's T20 cricket final against Pakistan, alongside a crucial men's hockey match against Malaysia. The day's activities will kick off early, featuring events in golf, archery, taekwondo, sailing, and wrestling, before the cricket and hockey teams take the spotlight later.


Morning Events: Golf and Archery

In the realm of golf, Aditi Ashok, Diksha Dagar, and Pranavi Sharath Urs will participate in the women's final round at the Kasugai Country Club East Course starting at 2:40 AM IST. Meanwhile, Yuvraj Sandhu, Veer Ahlawat, and Saptak Talwar will compete in the men's round from 4:45 AM. Archery events will commence at 5:30 AM, featuring Kumkum Anil Mohod against South Korea's Chaeyoung Kang in the women's recurve individual quarterfinals. The morning will also see semifinals, bronze medal matches, and gold medal contests. Later, Dhirak Bommadevara, Neeraj Chauhan, and Yashdeep Bhoge will engage in the men's recurve individual events, with elimination rounds starting at 9:30 AM.


Taekwondo and Team Sports

In taekwondo, Kashish Malik will compete against South Korea's Yujin Kim in the women's -57kg round of 16 at 5:42 AM, while Jyoti Yadav faces Thailand's Kannaluck Chuenchooklin in the women's +67kg round of 16 at 6:30 AM.


The women's rugby sevens team will kick off their day against Singapore in the fifth-to-eighth place qualification match at 6:20 AM, followed by the men's volleyball team taking on Thailand at 9:30 AM for the fifth-place match.


Wrestling and Sailing Events

Wrestling will feature several Indian athletes, including Sagar Jaglan (74kg) against Mongolia's Tulga Tumur Ochir, Deepak Punia (97kg) versus China's Junpeng Zhou, and Aman Sehrawat (57kg) in the pre-quarterfinals. In the women's category, Manisha Bhanwala (57kg) will compete against South Korea's Youngjin Kwon, while Antim Panghal (53kg) faces Kazakhstan's Shugyla Omirbek. Indian sailors will also be in action, with Mahi Verma participating in the women's dinghy races and Katya Coelho competing in the women's windsurfing events.
