Significant Remarks by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

On Thursday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership is providing decisive solutions to global challenges at a time when the world is looking towards him for guidance.


While addressing the 28th conference of speakers and presiding officers from Commonwealth nations held in the historic Central Hall of the Constitution House (old Parliament building), Birla highlighted that over seven decades of India's parliamentary journey have strengthened democracy through people-centric policies and welfare-oriented laws.


He underscored that a neutral and fair electoral system has ensured participatory democracy for all eligible citizens.


Birla noted that through the collective efforts of Parliament and the government, more than 1,500 outdated and unwanted laws have been repealed, paving the way for new legislation focused on public welfare. He stated that the implementation of such laws and policies is instrumental in transforming India into a self-reliant and developed nation.
