In the latest round of the Chess Olympiad taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, India faced a defeat in the open section but achieved a victory in the women's category. The open team lost to Uzbekistan with a score of 1.5-2.5, while the women's team triumphed over the USA with a convincing 3.0-1.0 win, according to the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

Following six rounds, India's open team has dropped to seventh place with a total of 10 points, while Uzbekistan leads with a flawless record of 12 points. In the women's standings, India holds the third position, also with 10 points, trailing behind China and Uzbekistan, both of whom have perfect scores of 12 points.
