India's Military Readiness: General Dwivedi Signals Potential Operation Sindoor 2.0
India's Stance on Terrorism and Military Preparedness
India has made it clear that the account for the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam is far from settled. If Pakistan continues its provocations, "Operation Sindoor 2.0" could be initiated at any moment. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi emphasized that Operation Sindoor is not concluded; the current situation merely reflects a temporary ceasefire. While the guns may be silent, the fingers of Indian soldiers remain poised on the trigger.
Without directly naming Pakistan, General Dwivedi conveyed a stern warning, stating that the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy are fully prepared. Should the situation deteriorate again, all three branches are on standby for "Operation Sindoor 2.0". He noted that in light of future warfare challenges, coordination and strategic capabilities among the forces are being continuously enhanced.
Modern Warfare and Information Warfare
General Dwivedi also shed light on the evolving nature of modern warfare. He remarked that today's battlefield is entirely transparent, with adversaries monitoring every action. Therefore, it is crucial to exercise extreme caution regarding troop deployments, military resource utilization, and the safety of civilians in border areas. He identified information warfare as a vital tool in contemporary conflicts, asserting that it succeeds only when the entire nation unites around accurate information. A nation where citizens, the military, and all stakeholders trust each other can achieve victory in any conflict.
The Army Chief spoke to the media after reviewing the passing-out parade of the 150th course at the National Defence Academy in Pune. This grand event saw 355 cadets join the Indian Armed Forces. It was particularly special for General Dwivedi, a former student of the 65th course at the academy, marking a proud return to his alma mater as Army Chief.
Celebrating Cadet Achievements
Cadets who excelled during the ceremony attributed their success to the disciplined environment of the National Defence Academy, guidance from seniors, and support from their parents. The parade also showcased the impressive aerial capabilities of the Indian Armed Forces, featuring Sukhoi fighter jets, Chetak helicopters, the Sarang helicopter team, and the Akashganga skydiving team, all of which thrilled the audience with their precision and skill. The newly inducted cadets described this moment as a significant milestone in their careers.
