President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt congratulations to India's men's kabaddi team for clinching the gold medal and successfully defending their title at the Asian Games. She also commended both the men's and women's teams for achieving a remarkable golden sweep. The men's team showcased an impressive comeback in the second half, overcoming Iran with a score of 40-34 to secure the gold medal in the men's kabaddi event on Saturday.

"I offer my warmest congratulations to our Men’s Kabaddi Team for winning the Gold Medal at the Asian Games 2026 and for defending their title. With the Women’s Team also achieving Gold, India has accomplished a golden sweep in Kabaddi. "Absolute domination on the mat! The Indian Men’s Kabaddi Team has secured a historic 9th Asian Games Gold with a thrilling 40-34 win against Iran. I am proud of our champions!" Mandaviya shared in a post on X.

He further congratulated the Indian women's kabaddi team for their gold medal win at the Asian Games 2026, acknowledging their successful title defense against Iran in the final.
