Transforming the Business Landscape

New Delhi, March 9: The Indian government announced on Monday that its digital platforms have significantly accelerated the business lifecycle, facilitating everything from initial entry to expansion through systems like the National Single Window System (NSWS), Government e-Marketplace, and MCA21.

This integrated digital framework has broadened market access and enhanced liquidity for millions of businesses. The NSWS alone has issued more than 829,750 approvals across 32 central departments and states, as per an official report.

Moreover, the MCA21 Project is transforming India's corporate environment with its AI-driven approach that boosts transparency. This initiative, which includes features like e-Scrutiny, e-adjudication, and e-consultation, has seen around 38.4 million filings from 2021 to 2025, according to the statement.

As of February 12, 2026, the Udyam Registration Portal has enabled 77.1 million registrations, supporting approximately 339.7 million jobs.

This portal offers a free, paperless, and self-declaration-based registration process for MSMEs, seamlessly integrating with the Central Board of Direct Taxes and GST databases to provide a fully digital experience that removes administrative barriers.

"By aligning central platforms with state-led initiatives, India is creating an efficient, transparent, and dependable pathway for entrepreneurs and businesses to thrive," the statement emphasized.

The Government e-Marketplace has evolved into a comprehensive digital procurement system, linking sellers and service providers nationwide, including women entrepreneurs, startups, micro and small enterprises (MSEs), artisans, self-help groups (SHGs), and individuals with disabilities.

In FY26, the Government e-Marketplace recorded an order value exceeding ₹4 lakh crore by February 12, with over 6 million orders processed. The platform facilitated auctions worth more than ₹2,200 crore from December 2021 to November 2025, attracting over 23,000 registered bidders and participation from more than 17,000 auctioneers.

India has revamped its administrative processes by digitizing approvals at both central and state levels through unified single-window portals. Additionally, the government has introduced other digital platforms like PARIVESH and e-Gram SWARAJ Portal, which enhance transparency, lower costs, and simplify compliance.
