India's Cultural Representation at the Youth Delphic Games
In a significant development for India's artistic landscape, a delegation of 46 young Indian artists has arrived in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to take part in the inaugural Youth Delphic Games of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states. This event marks a historic first for Indian artists competing on a global stage, setting a new precedent in international cultural exchanges.
Leadership and Composition of the Delegation
The team consists of 46 talented artists from various regions of India, alongside international jury members. They will showcase their skills in multiple disciplines such as piano, folk singing, folk dance, folk music, arts and crafts, and visual arts, reflecting the vast cultural heritage of India.
Bijender Goel, the founder of the Modern Pythian Games, leads this delegation. His leadership has been instrumental in revitalizing and promoting the Pythian Games on a global scale. Notably, Goel is set to deliver a Special Address at the SCO Member Nations' International Conference, where he will share his vision for enhancing global cultural cooperation through the arts and traditional games.
Strengthening Cultural Ties
Nabam Tuki, the former Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, is also part of the delegation, further emphasizing India's diverse cultural representation, especially from the Northeast region.
Reception by the Ambassador
A highlight of the visit was a special High Tea reception hosted by Ambassador Birender Singh Yadav in honor of the Indian delegation. The Ambassador engaged with the participants, motivating them to represent India with pride and excellence, while underscoring the significance of cultural diplomacy in fostering international relations.

The Youth Delphic Games will officially begin on March 24, 2026, with the following key events planned:
- 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM: Opening Ceremony of the 1st Youth Delphic Games at the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic Hall named after T. Satylganov, Bishkek (Chui Avenue 253).
- 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM: Welcome Reception hosted by the Mayor of Bishkek at the Ceremonial Hall, Kyrgyz National Philharmonic (1st Floor).
