India's Energy Security Takes Center Stage
New Delhi: On Thursday, India emphasized that the energy security of its 1.4 billion citizens is fundamental to its petroleum sourcing strategy.
During a media briefing, Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the External Affairs Ministry, addressed claims from Washington regarding India's supposed agreement to halt imports of Russian oil.
Jaiswal reiterated that the government has consistently highlighted the importance of energy security for its vast population as its top priority.
He noted that the strategy involves diversifying energy sources in alignment with market conditions and the shifting landscape of international relations.
Every action taken by India will reflect this commitment to energy security, he affirmed.
