India's Triumph in the Asia Cup

India's recent success in the Asia Cup held in Dubai has propelled several players up the ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings. The team secured an impressive 72-run win against Sri Lanka in the final, marking their eighth Asia Cup title, a record achievement. Key performances came from players like Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, and Sree Charani, as highlighted on the ICC website.

Outstanding Performances in Rankings Update

In the final match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Charani took four wickets, concluding the tournament with a total of 12 wickets. This performance has catapulted her to the top of the T20I bowlers' rankings, making her the first Indian bowler to exceed the 800-point threshold. Currently, only Australia's Megan Schutt, with 806 points, has a higher rating than Charani's 802 points. She joins an elite group of female bowlers, including England's Sophie Ecclestone, who have also reached the 800-point milestone.

Deepti Sharma's Rise in Rankings

Deepti Sharma, Charani's teammate, has also made significant strides, moving up four places to secure the second position among T20I bowlers. Her impressive tally of 14 wickets during the Asia Cup, including a standout performance of 3/19 in the final, contributed to her rise. Additionally, Shafali Verma has climbed one spot to sixth among T20I batters, thanks to her tournament-leading 236 runs at an average of 47.20. This performance also saw her advance five positions to 15th in the T20I all-rounders' rankings.

Other Players Making Progress

At the top of the T20I batters' rankings, Australian players Beth Mooney and Georgia Voll continue to lead. Notable advancements from the Asia Cup include Nigar Sultana, who moved up one spot to tie for 20th, Imesha Dulani, who climbed two spots to also tie for 20th, and Sharmin Akhter Supta, who rose three places to tie for 40th. Shawaal Zulfiqar improved by four slots to reach 45th.

In the T20I bowlers' rankings, several Bangladesh players have made notable gains: Marufa Akter moved up three spots to tie for 15th, Rabeya Khan climbed three places to 18th, Sultana Khatun advanced five spots to 32nd, and Fahima Khatun improved by six positions to 49th.
