In a remarkable display of talent, Manisha and Neha from India secured gold medals in the Women's Wrestling category, leading a successful day for the Indian wrestling team at the Ulaanbaatar Open Ranking Series held in Mongolia. The team achieved a total of four gold medals and two bronze medals across both the Greco-Roman and Women's Wrestling divisions.
Strong Medal Count
The Indian squad has made a significant impact in the overall medal standings, having earned six medals thus far, with more competitions scheduled for Day 3. The Greco-Roman team concluded its events with two golds and one bronze, as reported by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
Greco-Roman Achievements
Sunil clinched the gold medal in the 87kg category by defeating Azad Salidinov with a score of 4-1. Nitesh also triumphed in the 97kg category, winning the title with a 13-9 victory over Nurassyl Amanaly. Additionally, Sumit earned a bronze medal in the 60kg category after a decisive 5-0 win against fellow Indian wrestler Sahil.
WFI President Commends Wrestlers
Sanjay Singh, President of the Wrestling Federation of India, praised the athletes' performances, stating, "The achievements of Manisha and Neha, along with the three medals from our Greco-Roman wrestlers, highlight our competitive edge on the global stage. Securing gold against formidable opponents from DPR Korea and Kazakhstan showcases the effectiveness of our training. This strong start sets a positive tone for the remainder of the tournament."
Women's Wrestling Success
In the Women's Wrestling results, Manisha claimed the gold medal in the 57kg category with a 3-1 victory over Sim Son from DPR Korea. Neha also secured gold in the 59kg category, defeating Pyol Hong from DPR Korea with a score of 5-3. Earlier, Neelam achieved a bronze medal in the 50kg category, winning with a technical superiority score of 10-0 against Kazakhstan's Maral Tangirbergenova.

The Men's Freestyle division and the remaining weight classes in the Women's Wrestling category are set to begin tomorrow.
