Tournament Structure and Qualification Details

As per Hockey India's announcement, the qualifiers will include eight teams: India, England, Scotland, Korea, Italy, Uruguay, Wales, and Austria. These teams will vie for three qualification spots for the World Cup.

The tournament will award direct World Cup entries to the top three finishers. The upcoming World Cup will feature 16 teams in both men's and women's categories, with nine teams already qualified, making the competition fierce.

The format consists of two pools of four teams each, with the leading two from each pool advancing to the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals and the bronze medal match will automatically qualify for the World Cup. Additionally, the highest-ranked team finishing fourth will also gain entry.

Team India's Strategy and Expectations

India is eager to leverage the home advantage in Hyderabad to deliver an outstanding performance. The team will be led by Chief Coach Sjoerd Marijne, who returned to the role earlier this year.
