Indian U15 Boxers Shine in Semifinals at Asian Championships 2026

The Indian U15 girls boxing team delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026, with nine boxers advancing to the finals. Notable victories included Akshita's RSC win and strong showings from Anzee and Soniya. Despite some losses, the team is set to compete for gold medals in the finals. Outstanding Performances by Indian Girls

On Saturday, Indian girls showcased their exceptional skills during the semifinals of the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026 held in Tashkent. A total of nine boxers from the U-15 category have successfully advanced to the finals.

In the 30-33kg weight class, Akshita achieved a remarkable victory by Referee Stops Contest (RSC) in the second round against Kazakhstan's Ayazhan Marat.


In the 35kg division, Jiya faced a tough match but ultimately lost by a split decision of 1:4 to Kyrgyzstan's Malika Moldogazieva.


Continuing India's strong performance, Anzee (37kg) secured a convincing 5:0 win over Sarvinoz Riskulova from Uzbekistan, while Soniya (40kg) also triumphed with a dominant 5:0 victory against Kazakhstan's Diana Mendigarayeva.


In the 43kg category, Tanvi won by RSC in the second round against Sezim Nurlubek of Kazakhstan.


Hanshika Attri (46kg) followed suit with an impressive RSC victory in the first round against Korea's Yuhui Cheon.


In the 49kg division, Khushi Rana faced defeat, losing 0:5 to Zebiniso Abdullayeva from Uzbekistan, while Knishka (52kg) also lost 0:5 against Kazakhstan's Samal Tolepbergen.


Sunaina (58kg) delivered a strong performance, winning by RSC in the first round against Ardak Abdikhan of Kazakhstan.


Bhumika (61kg) secured a victory by RSC in the second round against Chiao-Ying Chang from Chinese Taipei.


Tannvi (64kg) achieved a hard-fought 4:1 win over Kazakhstan's Yasmin Jautkhanova to advance to the finals.


In the higher weight categories, Aashvi (67kg) lost by RSC in the second round against Nurgul Sakhi of Kazakhstan, while Manvi (70+kg) went down 0:5 against Zahro Daniyorova from Uzbekistan.


With nine finalists confirmed, the Indian U-15 girls team is now poised to aim for gold medals.
