ISL 2026-27 Season Launch

The Indian Super League (ISL) is gearing up for its 2026-27 season, commencing on Saturday with a thrilling double-header featuring both veteran teams and newcomers. The opening match will showcase Bengaluru FC against Sporting Club Delhi at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium at 5:00 PM IST, followed by FC Goa competing against Chennaiyin FC at the Fatorda Stadium at 7:30 PM IST.

Weekend Football Focus

In response to fan input, the upcoming season will prioritize weekend matches, with 53 out of 78 Phase 1 games (68%) scheduled for Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Most matches will kick off at 5:00 PM and 7:30 PM IST, allowing fans to engage more with the league during weekends.

Clubs Participating in ISL 2026-27

This season will feature 13 clubs: Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, Churchill Brothers, East Bengal FC, FC Goa, Inter Kashi, Kerala Blasters FC, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, Mumbai City FC, NorthEast United FC, Odisha FC, Punjab FC, and Sporting Club Delhi.

Notable Fixtures and New Rivalries

The 2026-27 season will introduce new fixtures, including the first-ever ISL Goa Derby between Churchill Brothers and FC Goa on Sunday, December 13, at 7:30 PM IST at the Fatorda Stadium. Additionally, the league will expand into Manipur, with NorthEast United FC facing Sporting Club Delhi at the Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal on November 24, 2026.

Defending champions East Bengal FC will kick off their title defense on Sunday, October 18, against Churchill Brothers at 5:00 PM IST at the Fatorda Stadium, although they will miss Game Week 1 due to AFC commitments.

The highly anticipated Kolkata Derby will take place on Sunday, November 29, 2026, featuring East Bengal FC hosting Mohun Bagan Super Giant at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan at 7:30 PM IST.

Phase 1 Schedule Overview

The ISL will take a break for the FIFA international window from Saturday, November 7, to Friday, November 20, 2026, during which no league matches will occur. This pause will allow players to join their national teams for international duties.

Phase 1 will consist of 78 matches from October 10, 2026, to January 17, 2027, with the top six teams progressing to the playoffs. Details regarding Phase 2 and playoff matches will be revealed later.
