On September 23, Indian shooters achieved remarkable success at the Asian Games 2026 held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, securing two bronze medals in both men's and women's skeet shooting events. This accomplishment marks a significant achievement for India in the shooting discipline at these continental games.

Men's Skeet Team Triumphs in Tense Shoot-Off

The Indian men's skeet shooting team, consisting of Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmad Khan, and Bhavtegh Singh Gill, scored a total of 346 points. With both India and Kazakhstan tied, a shoot-off was necessary to determine the bronze medal winner, which India clinched. Anantjeet scored 119 points, Mairaj contributed 116 points, and Bhavtegh added 111 points. Notably, Anantjeet also advanced to the individual skeet shooting finals.

Historic Bronze for Indian Women's Skeet Team

The Indian women's skeet team, featuring Raiza Dhillon, Parinaaz Dhaliwal, and Maheshwari Chauhan, also secured a bronze medal with a combined score of 331. Raiza and Parinaaz each scored 111 points, while Maheshwari contributed 109 points. China took home the gold, and Kazakhstan earned the silver.
