On Thursday, Indian sailors Harshita Tomar and Shital Verma secured a bronze medal in the women's skiff event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The duo finished third after a series of nine races, accumulating 24 net points and 28 total points. Initially, they were placed fourth, but due to the disqualification of the Chinese team, who had originally taken third place, the Indian pair moved up to claim the bronze. This achievement was celebrated late in the evening.
Manu Francis and Prince Noble Win Silver
Earlier on the same day, sailors Manu Francis and Prince Noble earned a silver medal in the men's skiff event. They finished second to the Chinese team after completing nine races with a total of 23 points, while Hong Kong took home the bronze. Competing in the 49er class, Manu and Prince demonstrated a strong performance throughout the event, including a victory in one of the races, marking India's first sailing medal at these Asian Games.

The bronze medal won by Harshita Tomar and Shital Verma is part of India's impressive medal tally on Thursday, which includes six medals in total. This tally features Nitesh Siwach's silver in the men's 97kg Greco-Roman wrestling, the silver from Manu Francis and Prince Noble in sailing, and two bronze medals in squash, with both the men's and women's teams finishing third after losing in the semifinals to Hong Kong and Malaysia, respectively. Additionally, T Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru secured bronze in the men's compound individual archery event by defeating Vietnam's Cong Duc Dang.
