Indian Rowers Advance to Finals

On Wednesday, Indian rowers Satnam Singh, Salman Khan, and Balraj Panwar made their way to the finals in their respective events at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026.

Satnam Singh and Salman Khan earned their spot in the men's double sculls final by finishing second in their heat, clocking a time of 6:15.63 seconds.

The duo's performance placed them fourth overall across both heats, ensuring their participation in the final scheduled for Thursday.

In addition, Balraj Panwar qualified for Final A in the men's single sculls event, finishing third in his heat with a time of 6:52.84 seconds.

Panwar's overall performance across the heats also secured him a place in the medal race.

The Indian rowing team is now focused on translating these strong qualifying results into medal wins as the competition continues at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

India's Medal Hunt Continues

As Day 4 unfolds, the Indian contingent is set for a busy schedule filled with numerous medal opportunities, featuring Olympic medallists Mirabai Chanu and Manu Bhaker.

Currently, India has amassed a total of seven medals at the Asian Games 2026, which includes one gold, four silver, and two bronze.

Men's Kayak Team Joins Finalists

The men's kayak team, consisting of Harshwardhan Shaktawat, Varinder Singh, L Naocha Singh Oinam, and Arun Singh, has also qualified for the finals in the men’s kayak four 500m event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026, finishing third in their heat.

The team recorded a time of 1:29.447 in Heat 1, trailing the leaders from China by 5.594 seconds. Their third-place finish was sufficient to secure a spot in the final.
