Sachin Yadav, a finalist at the World Championships, is among the elite Indian track and field athletes participating in the Delhi leg of the one-day Indian Open Series, taking place on April 11 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
With a significant number of entries, the competition promises to be fierce across various events, as noted in a recent press release. In the men's javelin, all eyes will be on Sachin Yadav, who made a remarkable debut at the 2025 Tokyo World Athletics Championships, finishing fourth with a throw of 86.27m. The silver medallist from the 2025 Asian Championships is eager to kick off his 2026 season successfully at his home venue this weekend.
Men's Javelin Competition
The men's javelin event is expected to feature an exciting showdown among India's promising throwers, including Shivam Lohakare, Asian Games silver medallist Kishore Kumar Jena, and Rohit Yadav, all of whom are looking to gauge their readiness ahead of the main domestic competition in May.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor, a two-time Asian Games champion, is also aiming to enhance his performance this Saturday.

Busy Schedule for the Delhi Leg
The Indian Open Series, which consists of 16 legs, commenced on April 4 in Bengaluru, followed by the second leg in Jaipur on April 5. The Delhi leg, being the third in the series, has attracted a large number of participants, leading to a full schedule from morning until evening.
The day will kick off with the men's 10,000m race at 6 a.m., while the men's 1500m race will conclude the events at 8:10 p.m. Competitors will be divided into various groups, with all races being finals.
In addition to senior events, competitions will also be held for junior athletes in both men's and women's categories.
