Indian Men's Hockey Team Announced for FIH Pro League European Tour

Announcement of the Squad

On Wednesday, Hockey India revealed a 24-member squad for the upcoming European segment of the FIH Pro League 2025-26. Harmanpreet Singh is set to return as captain after missing the Hobart leg earlier this year due to personal commitments.


Preparatory Training and Matches

The Indian team will head to Brussels, Belgium, for a training camp and a friendly match from June 7 to 9, as stated in a release from Hockey India. Following this, the squad will move to Rotterdam, Netherlands, starting June 10, to compete in Pro League matches against Germany and the Netherlands from June 14 to 21.


Upcoming Matches in London

After the Netherlands, the team will travel to London, England, where they will face Pakistan and England in the Pro League from June 23 to 28. The selected squad combines experienced players and emerging talent, strategically chosen to strengthen the team ahead of the World Cup.


Squad Composition

Harmanpreet Singh will lead the defense, supported by a strong defensive lineup that includes Amit Rohidas, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, and newcomer Amandeep Lakra. The midfield will feature seasoned players like Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh, and Vivek Sagar Prasad, along with Raj Kumar Pal.


The forward line boasts dynamic attackers such as Mandeep Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Abhishek, and Selvam Karthi.


Standby Players

Hockey India has also designated five standby players: goalkeeper Krishan Bahadur Pathak, forwards Araijeet Singh Hundal and Maninder Singh, defender Poovanna Chandura Boby, and midfielder Vishnu Kant Singh.

Chief Coach Craig Fulton commented on the squad selection and the upcoming matches in Europe, stating, "Training has been progressing well, and the squad is in excellent condition.
