Indian Government Discusses West Asia Crisis in High-Level Meeting

In response to the escalating crisis in West Asia, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh led a high-level meeting in Delhi, attended by key ministers and officials. The discussions focused on ensuring citizen safety and maintaining economic stability amidst the ongoing conflict. Prime Minister Modi also held a virtual meeting with state leaders to review preparedness and emphasize the importance of coordinated action. The government is committed to monitoring the situation closely and providing necessary support to Indian nationals abroad. High-Level Meeting on West Asia Crisis

A high-level meeting led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh convened in Delhi to address the ongoing crisis in West Asia. Key officials in attendance included Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Parliamentary Minister Kiren Rijiju, Health Minister JP Nadda, and Minister of State for Atomic Energy Jitendra Singh, among others. This meeting comes as the central government has been holding multiple discussions regarding the current conflict, assuring the public of no fuel shortages.


 


The Ministry of External Affairs is closely monitoring the situation and is actively working to provide assistance to Indian citizens in West Asia. Earlier on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a virtual meeting with Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of states and Union Territories to review the recent developments in West Asia and their potential impact on the country.


 


According to the Prime Minister's Office, Modi appreciated the valuable suggestions provided by all Chief Ministers, stating that these insights would be crucial in effectively managing the current situation. He emphasized the need for vigilance, preparedness, and coordinated action to tackle upcoming challenges. The Prime Minister noted that the situation is continuously evolving, necessitating ongoing monitoring and adaptive strategies. He mentioned that an inter-ministerial group has been operational since March 3, reviewing the situation daily to make timely decisions.


 


Furthermore, he highlighted that the government's priorities include maintaining economic and trade stability, ensuring energy security, protecting citizens' interests, and strengthening industries and supply chains. Emphasizing the critical role of states, the Prime Minister stated that effective implementation of decisions occurs at the state level. He called for continuous communication and coordination between the central and state governments, along with timely information exchange and joint decision-making, to ensure swift and organized responses.
