In light of ongoing uncertainties in the Middle East, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued a revised advisory urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Iran. This recommendation follows a recent peace agreement between Iran and the US aimed at resolving regional conflicts. While acknowledging positive developments, the embassy emphasizes the importance of safety and advises travelers to stay informed through official channels. Those currently in Iran are encouraged to register their information with the embassy and remain vigilant. The advisory comes as both nations work towards implementing a 14-point proposal to end hostilities, with US officials expressing optimism about future agreements.

Travel Advisory for Indian Citizens in Iran

Despite a recent peace agreement between Iran and the United States, uncertainty in the Middle East persists. In light of this situation, the Indian Embassy in Tehran has released a revised security advisory on Wednesday. The advisory strongly recommends that Indian nationals avoid all 'non-essential' travel to Iran until further notice. The embassy clarified that, although there have been some positive developments recently, travelers should reconsider their travel plans for safety reasons.

Caution Advised for Travelers

Acknowledging the recent positive events, the embassy still advises travelers to postpone their plans until more information is available. This advisory comes shortly after Iran and the US approved a peace agreement aimed at ending three months of conflict in the region.

Guidance for Those Currently in Iran

For those currently in Iran or planning essential travel, the embassy urges them to exercise caution, remain vigilant, and follow local authorities' instructions while keeping updated through official channels.

Monitoring Security Situation

The advisory states, "The Indian Embassy in Tehran is closely monitoring the current security situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In light of recent positive developments and the overall improvement in the situation, the embassy wishes to issue the following revised advisory for Indian citizens considering travel to Iran."

Continued Travel Caution

The advisory further emphasizes, "Despite recent improvements, Indian citizens are advised to continue avoiding all non-essential travel to Iran until further notice."

Registration and Updates

Additionally, Indians in Iran or those planning to travel are advised to register their information with the embassy in Tehran. Citizens are also encouraged to regularly check the embassy's official website and social media platforms for important instructions and updates.

Iran-US Peace Agreement

It is noteworthy that Iran and the US have agreed on a 14-point proposal to end the conflict in the Middle East. Recently, representatives from both sides held discussions in Switzerland to implement this proposal. In response to this development, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the recent peace talks with Iran have laid a strong foundation that could lead to a final agreement to end the conflict that began in late February. Vance remarked to reporters, "The real work is to build the house. We have laid the foundation. We haven't built the house yet, but we have certainly laid a strong foundation to reach a good position for the American people."
