Advisory for Indian Nationals in UAE

Abu Dhabi, March 5: The Indian Embassy in the UAE has released a new advisory urging Indian citizens residing in the UAE to stay alert, composed, and adhere to the safety protocols set by local authorities and official advisories.

The advisory highlighted that the airspace and regular flight operations in the UAE are currently suspended due to ongoing security issues. Nevertheless, both Indian and UAE airlines have initiated limited non-scheduled flights to various locations in India, in collaboration with UAE authorities, contingent on operational and safety approvals. Indian nationals who are stranded can reach out to their respective airlines for assistance.

"Given the current circumstances in the UAE and surrounding regions, all Indian nationals are advised to remain vigilant, calm, and follow the safety guidelines provided by UAE authorities, as well as any official advisories issued periodically," stated the advisory from the Indian Embassy.

The Embassy confirmed that its operations, including those of the Consulate in Dubai and outsourced passport, consular, and visa services, are functioning normally. Additionally, helpline numbers have been provided for Indian nationals in the UAE who may have questions or concerns.

For individuals stranded after February 28 whose visas have expired, the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Authority (ICP) has announced a waiver of overstay fines for visitors unable to leave due to these exceptional circumstances.

The advisory emphasized that the Indian government prioritizes the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad and is closely monitoring the situation. The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai are maintaining communication with UAE authorities and community leaders to ensure the welfare of the Indian community. Updates and advisories will continue to be shared via the Embassy's website and social media platforms.
