Indian Embassy in Rome Responds to Controversial Claims: What Really Happened?
Embassy Clarifies Allegations
London: On Wednesday, the Indian Embassy in Italy addressed and dismissed allegations regarding the denial of access to its premises in Rome. The Embassy labeled the claims made by an individual in a social media video as false and misleading.
In a statement shared on X, the Embassy clarified, "We have seen a video made by a certain Indian national. Claims being made by him are false and fabricated."
The video features an individual asserting their rights on Italian soil, insisting they should not be mistreated. Footage shows another person attempting to mediate as one youth records the incident.
The Embassy reiterated, "He had come to the Embassy and we were ready to meet him, but he refused to show his identity passport. We follow some standard security protocols for visitors to the Embassy."
Furthermore, the Embassy expressed its dedication to assisting Indian nationals, stating, "We have regular outreach to all members of the Indian community."
The youths involved accused the Embassy staff of being rude and attempting to coerce them into the premises.
The video sparked a variety of reactions online, with some users accusing the embassy staff of harassment, while others defended their actions.
One comment read, "In my opinion, you (accuser) have done something very wrong, which you don’t want to tell here."
