The duo made history by becoming the first Indian men's doubles team to clinch the China Masters title, overcoming China's He Ji Ting and Ren Xiang Yu in the final. This win also marked their second BWF World Tour Super 750 title this season, adding to their earlier success at the Singapore Open.

Confidence Ahead of the Asian Games

During a virtual press conference organized by the Badminton Association of India (BAI), Chirag expressed that their recent triumph has significantly boosted their confidence ahead of the Asian Games, set to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4. "Winning the China Masters right before the Asian Games feels fantastic. It gives us a major confidence boost, especially after a challenging period away from the court. This victory reassures us that our efforts are paying off, and we are eager to perform well for our country at this prestigious event," he stated.

Testing Their Limits

The pair faced a challenging World Championships, where they exited in the quarterfinals after returning from a significant injury hiatus. Satwik noted that the China Masters served as a vital test for their physical readiness ahead of the demanding Asian Games schedule. "This tournament was crucial for assessing how our bodies can handle the strain, especially since the Asian Games require nearly ten days of play, including team and individual events," he explained.

Commitment to Improvement

The China Masters also allowed the duo to work on areas that needed improvement following their World Championships experience. Chirag emphasized that their development is an ongoing process, focusing on minor enhancements rather than drastic changes. He pointed out that defense is a critical area for growth, stating, "Even when we reached world number one, I recognized there were aspects I needed to refine. This mindset continues as we strive to enhance our defensive skills and overall game performance."
