The Indian women's 4x400m relay team has made history by winning a gold medal at the Asian Games 2026, a moment celebrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a significant achievement for Indian athletics.

The team, consisting of Kiran Pahal, Machettira Poovamma, Prachi Choudhary, and Vithya Ramraj, finished the race in 3:29.69, securing the top position. Bahrain took home the silver medal with a time of 3:30.21, while China earned bronze with a time of 3:31.02.

Gulveer Singh has made headlines by winning a bronze medal in the men's 5000m event at the Asian Games 2026, marking his third medal at this event. He clocked a time of 13:32.75, finishing third in a tightly contested race.

Bahrain's Birhanu Balew claimed gold with a time of 13:30.79, while Japan's Tomonori Yamaguchi took silver with a finish of 13:31.43.

Japan won the gold medal with a time of 3:00.75, while Qatar took silver with a finish of 3:00.93.
