Successful Return of Indian Astronaut

Today, Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla safely landed back on Earth following an 18-day mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS). He returned on the Dragon spacecraft named 'Grace', which made a successful splashdown in the Pacific Ocean near San Diego, California at 2:31 PM PT (3:01 PM IST, 4:31 AM CT).



Shukla was joined by US astronaut Peggy Whitson, Poland's Swosz Uznanski-Wisniewski, and Hungary's Tibor Kapu. The crew departed the ISS at 4:45 PM IST on Monday and completed their journey back to Earth in approximately 22.5 hours.



The Axiom-4 mission signifies a monumental achievement for India, marking the nation's re-entry into active space exploration after a hiatus of four decades.
