Indian Army's Capabilities Highlighted
The Indian Army has made a significant announcement regarding Operation Sindoor, asserting that it has the capability to strike anywhere within Pakistan. A senior military official emphasized the strength of India's military preparedness and arsenal, stating that the country can target objectives deep inside Pakistan. Lieutenant General Ivan D'cunha, the Director General of Army Air Defence, responded to reports suggesting that Pakistan might consider relocating its General Army Headquarters (GHQ) from Rawalpindi to Islamabad after the success of Operation Sindoor. He remarked that even if they move to regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), they would still need to find a deep pit to hide.
Significance of the Lieutenant General's Statement
Lieutenant General D'cunha's remarks carry considerable weight. Following Operation Sindoor, approximately 11 military airbases in Pakistan were reportedly damaged. There were subsequent reports indicating that the Pakistani military headquarters might be shifted from Rawalpindi to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting the Lieutenant General's comments. He stated, "I just want to emphasize that India possesses sufficient weaponry to engage Pakistan deep within its territory. Therefore, whether it is the largest or the smallest target, the entirety of Pakistan is within our reach. We are fully capable of engaging with Pakistan, whether from our borders or from within."
Response to the Pahalgam Terror Attack
In retaliation for the Pahalgam terrorist attack that resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, India executed precise strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terrorist locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Following the Pakistani military's response, India accurately targeted major Pakistani airbases, including Noor Khan Air Base, utilizing advanced weaponry to destroy the objectives. Lieutenant General Sumer Ivan D'cunha further elaborated that Pakistan deployed approximately 800-1000 drones along the western border within four days, but the Indian armed forces effectively neutralized the threat through coordinated efforts from the army, navy, and air force.
