Indian Army Thwarts Major Infiltration Attempt in Poonch District
Infiltration Attempt Foiled Near LOC
On Tuesday, a significant infiltration attempt was successfully thwarted near the Line of Control (LOC) in the Krishna Valley sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. Initial reports indicate that Indian Army personnel opened fire after observing suspicious activities close to the LOC. The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army tweeted that around 4 PM, suspicious movement was detected approximately 300 meters within their territory in the Krishna Valley sector.
The post further elaborated that the vigilant soldiers of the White Knight Corps acted swiftly to prevent the infiltration attempt, ensuring that the LOC remained secure. One infiltrator was neutralized during the operation, and the troops are maintaining a strong presence in the area with high operational readiness.
In a related incident, police in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir uncovered an old hideout of terrorists on Monday, recovering materials from a time when terrorism was at its peak. Officials reported that the recovered items included batteries for IEDs and binoculars.
The recovery occurred during a search operation by the Special Operations Group (SOG) in the Sara-Simili Gali area of the Darhal region. According to officials, the seized items comprised five IED batteries, two old bags, a pair of binoculars, two syringes, shaving blades, and several diary covers. Preliminary investigations suggest that these materials date back to a period of heightened terrorist activity.
