Defending Against Threats Amidst Harsh Winter

As the nation prepares to celebrate the New Year, the Indian Army and Jammu-Kashmir Police are braving the severe cold in the hilly regions of Bhalesa, Doda. To ensure a peaceful start to 2026, soldiers are venturing into the frozen forests and concealed mountain caves to eliminate potential threats before the full onset of winter.

While the world, particularly India and Jammu-Kashmir, gears up to welcome the New Year 2026, our courageous Indian Army and Jammu-Kashmir Police remain engaged in relentless anti-terror operations in the challenging winter conditions of Bhalesa, Doda.

Intense Search Operations in Challenging Terrain

In the dense forests and rugged terrains of the Bhalesa area, which borders Himachal Pradesh, security forces are conducting continuous search operations despite temperatures plummeting below zero and severe weather conditions. Despite facing extreme challenges, heavy snowfall, and difficult landscapes, the forces are fully committed to countering every terrorist threat and restoring lasting peace in the region. Their determination to neutralize all dangers symbolizes courage and sacrifice. Local residents express that their safety at home is solely due to the unique dedication and valor of the Indian Army and Jammu-Kashmir Police.

Escalation of Anti-Terror Operations

The Indian Army has intensified its anti-terror operations in the Kishtwar and Doda districts. Regardless of the biting cold, challenging terrain, and heavy snowfall, army units have expanded their operational capabilities in high, snow-covered areas to track down and neutralize Pakistani terrorists attempting to exploit the harsh winter for concealment. Traditionally, during the harshest phase of winter in Kashmir, known as Chilla Kalan (from December 21 to January 31), there is a temporary decline in terrorist activities as communication routes become blocked and heavy snowfall isolates mountainous regions.
