India had a fruitful day at the Asian Games 2026, with gold medals coming from shooting and archery, while boxing and squash also showcased strong performances.

Shooting Highlights

In shooting, Neeru Dhanda and Kynan Chenai secured the gold medal in the trap mixed team event after a successful final. India had previously qualified for this final.

Archery Achievements

India celebrated two gold medals in archery. Sahil Jadhav and Chikitha Taniparthi triumphed over South Korea in a thrilling shoot-off to win the compound mixed team gold medal, which also earned India a quota for the LA28 Olympics. The women's compound archery team, consisting of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi, and Prithika Pradeep, defeated China with a score of 238-234 to claim their gold medal. Earlier, they had also overcome South Korea in the semifinals with a score of 234-233.

Boxing Results

In boxing, Lovlina Borgohain achieved victory against Kazakhstan's Natalya Bogdanova with a score of 3-2 in the women's 75kg semifinal, advancing to the gold medal match. Meanwhile, Priya faced defeat against China's Yang Chengyu in the women's 60kg semifinal, securing a bronze medal.

Squash Success

The Indian women's squash team confirmed their medal status by defeating Singapore 2-0 in the quarterfinals, with Tanvi Khanna and Anahat Singh winning their respective singles matches.

In wrestling, Sunil Kumar won against Tajikistan's Mohammad Sultanzoda with a score of 9-0 in the men's Greco-Roman 87kg quarterfinal but lost to Japan's Taizo Yoshida in the semifinal.
