He stated that the Ministry of Civil Aviation is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with airlines to provide real-time updates. Due to recent geopolitical developments and the closure of airspace over certain countries, Indian aviation companies have had to take these measures to ensure safety. The ministry is committed to prioritizing passenger safety and is making every effort to minimize disruptions and inconveniences.

As a result of the heightened tensions in the Middle East, Indian airlines have either suspended, canceled, or rerouted flights to the region, affecting thousands of travelers and leading to significant financial losses for the airlines.

Air India Responds to Operational Disruptions

A spokesperson for Air India indicated that the airline, already grappling with operational disruptions, has temporarily suspended services to five destinations in the Middle East, Europe, as well as the USA and Canada. "Given the evolving situation in the Middle East, Air India has halted all operations to this region and to the eastern coast of North America until further notice. Flights from North America to India are returning to their original locations, while others are being redirected away from closed airspace. We urge all affected passengers to exercise understanding regarding this disruption, which is beyond the airline's control. Air India is in constant consultation with its external security advisors and is vigilantly monitoring the developing situation. We will keep our passengers informed of any updates, as their safety remains our top priority."
