Tragic Crash of Jaguar Fighter Jet
Jaipur, July 9: A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday when an Indian Air Force Jaguar fighter jet crashed in Bhanuda village, located in the Churu district of Rajasthan, resulting in the loss of two lives.
Churu Superintendent of Police, Jai Yadav, confirmed the incident and stated that police teams have been dispatched to the crash site.
"Severely mutilated body parts have been found near the wreckage," he reported.
The crash site has formed a large crater, with debris from the aircraft scattered across the vicinity.
Witnesses from the village reported seeing the aircraft engulfed in flames as it descended, ultimately crashing into a field near Charanan Mohalla on Sikrali Road. Burning fragments of the jet were discovered within a 200-foot radius.
Residents from Bhanuda and surrounding areas hurried to the scene.
Locals believe that one or two personnel might have been on board the jet during the crash.
Human remains and aircraft debris are extensively spread across the impact area. Further information is awaited from the Indian Air Force.
Villagers recounted seeing a flaming plane plummeting from the sky in Beed near Charanan Mohalla on Sikrali Road. Shortly after, burning pieces of the aircraft were observed scattered over a wide area.
"People from Bhanuda and nearby villages have gathered at the site," locals mentioned, noting that the fighter jet drew attention as it descended in flames.
This marks the third crash of a Jaguar fighter jet this year. Previously, a Jaguar went down in Panchkula, Haryana, on March 7, followed by another incident near Jamnagar, Gujarat, on April 2.
The Jaguar is a twin-engine, ground-attack fighter-bomber available in both single and twin-seat configurations.
Despite being an older model, these aircraft are still extensively utilized by the IAF and have undergone significant upgrades over the years.
