The Indian squad kicked off their tour of England with a robust performance, securing a 1-0 lead in the series. Notably, regular captain Harmanpreet Kaur was rested for this match.

Mandhana Reflects on the Match

After the match, Mandhana acknowledged that losing early wickets during the powerplay was not ideal but praised the middle-order for stabilizing the innings. She stated, "Losing two wickets in the power play was not ideal. Credit to Yastika Bhatia, who returned after an 8-month hiatus. She took the game away. Jemi (Jemimah) is doing Jemi things."

Mandhana also mentioned that the team could have aimed for a slightly higher score, adding, "We should have scored 10 more runs, though."

She emphasized the advantage of batting second, noting that fielding first allowed the team to better assess the conditions. "Fielding second is an advantage," she remarked.
