India U19 Cricket Team Updates: New Additions and Rohit Yadav's Suspension
New Additions to India's U19 Squad
Aryan Savsani from Saurashtra and Tanmay Baloda from Haryana have been included in India's Under-19 teams for the upcoming home series against Australia U19. They replace Rohit Yadav, who has been removed from both the One-Day and Multi-Day squads due to age-related issues, as stated in a release from the BCCI.
Rohit Yadav's Two-Year Suspension
Rohit was initially part of the U19 squads for the series, which consists of three One-Day matches and two Multi-Day games scheduled in Rajkot and Ahmedabad. However, he has received a two-year suspension for an age discrepancy discovered by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) during a pre-season documentation review. The 19-year-old, who has played for Bengal in age-group competitions, was found to have an age difference of 27 months.
Upcoming Series Schedule
The One-Day matches will take place in Rajkot from September 18 to 23, with the first Multi-Day match also set for the same location. The second Multi-Day game will occur in Ahmedabad, running from September 27 to October 8. Recently, the India U19 men's cricket team secured a 1-0 victory in a two-match Youth Test series but lost the three-match Youth ODI series 1-2 during their tour of Sri Lanka in July 2026.
Key Players in the Updated Squad
The revised One-Day squad will be captained by Lakshya Raichandani, with Yashbardhan Chauhan serving as vice-captain. Notable players include Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, sons of legendary Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid. Aaryavir participated in the Delhi Premier League with the West Delhi Lions, scoring 24 runs in two innings, while Anvay has already played two youth ODIs, amassing 101 runs with a top score of 87 against Sri Lanka.
