Inauguration of India Tex 2026
The grand global textile event, India Tex 2026, commenced today at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This four-day event, running until July 17, 2026, was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh. The event also saw the presence of the Minister of State for Textiles, Pabitra Margerita, Textile Secretary Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary of the Bihar Government's Industry Department, Kundan Kumar, along with other senior officials.
Bihar's Impressive Showcase
Bihar, participating as a partner state, showcased its growing capabilities in the textile and apparel sector. The Bihar Pavilion, located in Hall 11A of Bharat Mandapam, was jointly inaugurated by Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Bihar's Industry Minister, Shreyasi Singh. Senior officials including Kundan Kumar, Manoj Kumar Singh, the local commissioner of Bihar Bhawan, Dr. Vidya Nand Singh from the Handloom and Silk Directorate, and Mukul Kumar Gupta, the Director of Industries, were also present.

During the knowledge session at India Tex 2026, the Bihar government signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with 16 leading companies in the textile and apparel sector, reinforcing the state's growing reputation as an emerging textile investment destination. These MoUs are expected to bring in proposed investments of ₹1,476 crores and create over 40,500 job opportunities, significantly boosting Bihar's textile industry and contributing to employment and industrial development in the state.

The Bihar Pavilion features prominent exhibitors such as SAVI Global, Gramin Khadi Gramodyog Vikas Sangh, Gopalan Silk, Eco Tussar Silk Private Limited, High Spirit Commercial Ventures Private Limited (HSCVPL), New Zeal Fashion Wear Private Limited, Arthomedic Foundation, Competence Exports Private Limited, NIFT Patna, and Modelama Group, showcasing their products. Additionally, renowned artists Kumari Nalini Shah and Arundhati Mahato are captivating visitors with live demonstrations of Madhubani painting and Tikuli art, respectively.
