India's Success at the Youth Delphic Games

The Indian team representing the Modern Pythian Games has successfully wrapped up its participation in the inaugural Youth Delphic Games for SCO Member Nations held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The delegation earned a bronze medal in the Folk Singing category, showcasing India's expanding influence on international cultural stages. This accomplishment underscores the increasing significance of arts, culture, and traditional heritage in fostering international collaboration, as noted in an official press release.

Proposal for PYESCO: A Cultural Initiative for SCO Nations

During the event, Bijender Goel, the Founder of the Modern Pythian Games, presented a keynote speech at an international conference attended by SCO nations. He also addressed a special gathering organized by the Indian Embassy in Bishkek to honor the Indian delegation. In his talk titled 'Delphi Idea 2026 - Powering the SCO's Digital & Creative Transformation,' Goel proposed the creation of PYESCO, which stands for Pythian Youth, Educational, Sports (Traditional Games & Martial Arts), and Cultural Organisation, aimed at establishing a dedicated platform for SCO countries.

Goals of the Proposed PYESCO

Goel emphasized that arts, culture, and traditional games are essential components of a burgeoning global creative economy valued at over EUR 1 trillion. He outlined PYESCO's primary goals, which include:

1. Preserving cultural heritage.

2. Protecting traditional games and their intellectual identity.

3. Promoting digital literacy among artists in the era of Artificial Intelligence.

4. Creating a year-round collaborative platform for youth engagement and cultural exchange.

He remarked, 'Just as the world has UNESCO, the SCO must have PYESCO.'

Reviving the Historic Pythian Games

Goel also highlighted the Pythian Games' unique status as the oldest cultural games globally, now revitalized to incorporate arts, culture, and traditional sports into a worldwide framework. He pointed out their historic inclusivity, noting that women were recognized as 'Mothers of Culture' over 3,500 years ago, a tradition that continues today with significant female participation.

A Call for Peace: The 'Delphi Idea'

Reiterating the philosophical basis of the movement, he described the 'Delphi Idea' as a beacon of peace, dialogue, and unity, encouraging nations to revive the spirit of the 'Delphi Truce.' He stated, 'Wars do not just destroy nations; they obliterate the future of our youth. It is time to cease wars and embrace music.'

Strengthening Cultural Ties

The Indian delegation's efforts were bolstered by the warm support from the Embassy of India in Bishkek. Their successful participation and the proposal for PYESCO represent a significant advancement toward establishing a cohesive cultural and creative ecosystem within the SCO region.
