India Secures Men's Final Spot at Indian Open 2026; Anahat Singh to Compete in Women's Final

Men's Final Set for Indian Players

India is guaranteed a men's title at the Indian Open 2026, as Abhay Singh and Veer Chotrani both advanced to the finals following impressive semifinal victories on Saturday. In the women's category, top seed Anahat Singh will face Egypt's Hana Moataz in the championship match on Sunday.


Abhay Singh Triumphs Over Malaysian Rival

As per the tournament's press release, second seed Abhay Singh triumphed over Malaysia's Ameeshenraj Chandaran with a score of 3-1 (11-9, 9-11, 11-3, 11-8). In the other semifinal, fourth seed Veer Chotrani also secured his place in the final by defeating another Malaysian player, Sanjay Jeeva, with the same 3-1 scoreline (11-7, 11-5, 5-11, 11-6), ensuring an all-Indian final.


Chotrani Secures Final Position

Chotrani faced a strong challenge from Jeeva but managed to secure his final spot. After a shaky start, he won the first game 11-7 and continued to dominate, taking the second game 11-5. Although Jeeva fought back to win the third game 11-5, Chotrani regained his composure to clinch the fourth game 11-6.


Anahat Singh to Compete Against Hana Moataz

In the women's semifinals, top seed Anahat Singh defeated fellow Indian Tanvi with a score of 3-1 (11-6, 9-11, 11-8, 11-2) to reach the final. Anahat started strong, winning the first game comfortably, but Tanvi leveled the match by taking the second game. Anahat then regained control, winning the third game 11-8 and dominating the fourth game 11-2 to secure her place in the final.


In another semifinal, Hana Moataz overcame compatriot Nadien Elhammamy with a score of 3-1 (11-8, 5-11, 11-5, 11-7). Moataz won the first game narrowly, lost the second, but raised her game to win the last two games and secure her spot in the final.
