Commemoration of the Pahalgam Terror Attack
On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reaffirmed on Wednesday that India will maintain its zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and those who harbor it. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge echoed this sentiment, stating that India's resolve against every act of terrorism remains unyielding and united. On this day last year, the Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out an attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of 26 innocent individuals, primarily tourists from across India.

Following the Pahalgam attack, India launched a retaliatory military operation named 'Operation Sindoor', which aimed to dismantle military and terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. In a message posted on X, Shah remembered the victims of last year's attack, expressing that the sorrow of losing loved ones still resonates in the hearts of every Indian.
He emphasized that terrorism is humanity's greatest adversary, and it is imperative for us to unite and combat it. India will continue its unwavering stance against terrorism and its supporters. Meanwhile, Kharge paid tribute to the victims and honored the valor and sacrifice of the armed forces who fought with indomitable determination during Operation Sindoor.

In a post on X, he stated, 'On this day in 2025, I pay my humble tribute to the 26 civilians who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack.' He added that the nation will never forget or forgive the sacrifice of innocent citizens. Our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families who have lost their loved ones. The Congress President further acknowledged the sacrifices of those citizens stationed at the border who lost their lives due to cross-border shelling. Their sacrifice is etched in the nation's conscience. India's courage against every act of terrorism remains steadfast, resolute, and united.
