India Partners with Mastercard to Boost Tourism Appeal

India's Ministry of Tourism has signed a two-year agreement with Mastercard to enhance the country's appeal as a premier travel destination. This collaboration aims to showcase India's rich cultural and culinary heritage globally while promoting safe digital payment practices. The initiative will kick off in Goa and expand to other regions, including Varanasi and Andhra Pradesh. Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat highlighted the importance of presenting India's diverse experiences to international audiences in innovative ways. This partnership is set to strengthen India's tourism ecosystem and attract a wider range of travelers.
 

Collaboration to Enhance India's Tourism

The Ministry of Tourism in India, alongside Mastercard, has entered into a two-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at elevating India's status as a premier destination for both domestic and international travelers. This partnership will leverage Mastercard's global platforms, including its renowned Priceless program, to showcase India's rich cultural, spiritual, natural, and culinary heritage to audiences worldwide.


Promoting Safe Digital Payment Practices

The initiative will also strengthen the tourism ecosystem by involving public and private stakeholders to promote safe and responsible digital payment practices. Additionally, joint marketing campaigns will be launched to attract diverse travelers. Starting in Goa, priceless.com will highlight unique experiences in Varanasi and the interior regions of Andhra Pradesh, with plans to expand to other locations.

During the announcement, the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, emphasized that India offers a treasure trove of experiences rooted in its heritage, culture, spirituality, cuisine, landscapes, and traditions. He expressed the government's commitment to presenting these experiences in innovative and impactful ways to global audiences. By utilizing global platforms, corporate India can establish itself as a notable destination and enhance its connection with the vibrant tourism ecosystem.
