India kicked off its participation in the BOXAM Elite International 2026 with impressive performances on the first day of the tournament, which features 214 boxers from 21 different countries.

Leading the Indian team were champions Hitesh Gulia (70kg) and Preeti (54kg), both achieving decisive victories as India excelled in various weight classes, according to a recent announcement.

Hitesh demonstrated exceptional skill in the men's 70kg match, defeating Finn Bos from the Netherlands with a unanimous 5:0 score. His strategic approach and precise timing allowed him to control the match from beginning to end.

Earlier, Preeti set a positive tone in the women's 54kg category, winning 5:0 against Kazakhstan's Aliaskar Symbat, effectively combining sharp offensive moves with solid defense to dominate her opponent.

Continued Success for Indian Boxers

The success continued for Indian female boxers, with Prachi (57kg), Priya (60kg), and Kajal (65kg) all advancing confidently. Both Prachi and Priya secured 5:0 victories over their respective opponents, Spain's Vanesa Morell Ramirez and Canada's Alessia Mansuetto, while Kajal triumphed over Kazakhstan's Assem Tanatar with a score of 4:1 in a closely contested match.

In the men's category, Indian boxers maintained their momentum with a series of strong performances. Sachin (60kg) dominated his bout against Spain's Brandon Alejandro with a 5:0 victory, while Mohammed Hussam Uddin (60kg) narrowly defeated Denmark's Matias Mehmet Buyukdemir 4:1.
