India's Strong Response to UAE Attacks

On Tuesday, India expressed its condemnation of Iranian attacks on an oil facility in the United Arab Emirates, which resulted in injuries to three Indian nationals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi labeled the targeting of civilians and infrastructure as unacceptable. The Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone in the UAE was struck by drones and missiles. This incident occurred shortly after the U.S. administration initiated 'Project Freedom' to safely escort commercial vessels trapped in the Strait of Hormuz. Since the conflict began on February 28, Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz.

Modi took to social media to express his strong disapproval of the attacks on the UAE, which left three Indian citizens injured. He reiterated that targeting civilians and infrastructure is intolerable. Furthermore, he emphasized India's complete solidarity with the UAE and reaffirmed support for peaceful resolutions to all issues through dialogue and diplomacy.

He stated that ensuring safe and unhindered passage through the Strait of Hormuz is crucial for regional peace, stability, and global energy security. Prior to this, a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs also condemned the attacks on Fujairah, calling them unacceptable. The statement urged for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a halt to targeting civilian infrastructure and innocent lives. The ministry reiterated India's commitment to restoring peace and stability in West Asia and emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing the situation. It called for unhindered navigation and trade in accordance with international law and expressed readiness to support all efforts for peaceful resolutions.

Both the Prime Minister's social media post and the Ministry's statement did not directly mention Iran. The UAE accused Iran of carrying out missile and drone attacks on Monday, including the assault on the oil facility in eastern Fujairah. The severe fire at the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone resulted in minor injuries to three Indians, who were subsequently hospitalized.
